Spills and Thrills

We get a number of customers that come in to MacLab with permanent damage to laptops due to spills. Apple doesn’t cover liquid damage under warranty or even under Applecare. Laptops can be protected from splashes and small spills by a good keyboard cover. KB Covers are thin and difficult to detect they’re even present. A keyboard cover could save you thousands. These covers also protect against wear and tear. Ask us for one for you MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air.

Get a free KB Cover with any new Mac laptop you purchase through Maclab with configuration/installation until September 30.

iMac Drive Replacement

Yes we can! If your iMac is a few years old and the drive is failing or full, we can open it up and install a new drive. We can even put in a solid state drive (SSD) if you’d like it to run like a rocket. Either way, this can breathe new life in an older iMac for surprisingly little compared to the cost of a new computer. Add RAM and you’re good to go.

New Life for Your MacBook Pro

Your 2010 or 2011 era MacBook Pro is an excellent candidate for a solid state drive (SSD). Does your laptop seem as if it has slowed down over the years? It probably has, due to operating system upgrades.  Solid state drives are incredibly fast because they don’t rely on moving parts. Nearly all new Macs come with SSDs pre-installed. Put one in your laptop and you’ll be amazed at how much faster your computer will be—quicker than new! Ask about our specials on 256GB and 512GB SSDs installed with data transfer.

Reconditioned Macs

We sell reconditioned Macs. Among the cream of the crop is one of the last tower Mac Pros. This model sold for $2499 from 2010 to 2012. We increased the RAM, added a huge 2TB drive as additional storage (it holds up to four drives), and cut the price by half. Selling price is $1250. Compare this with a new Mac Pro starting at about 3K.
