Tip: Yosemite Mail Auto Detect

Apple Mail in OS X 10.10 Yosemite has settings that should be disabled for best compatibility with Kerio Connect (our mail servers) as well as many mail servers. Without changing this setting, sending and receiving mail can be delayed significantly.

Launch Mail, then go to Mail > Preferences.

Select “Accounts” then the account you would like to edit, then the “Advanced” tab.

Uncheck the box that says “Automatically detect and maintain account settings.”

Click the “Account Information” Tab.

Go to “Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) and use the popup menu to select “Edit SMTP Server List…”

Click “Advanced” then uncheck “Automatically detect and maintain account settings”

Click “Ok” to return to the previous window.

Close the window and save changes when asked.
